EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 5: Like the BJP-RSS combine, the JKNPP, which also claims that it represents the Jammu sentiment and says it believes in religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence, too, has adopted a negative attitude to the demand that Jazia on free Langars be abolished and additional taxes imposes on buses, trucks and light vehicles carrying yatris and food material for the pilgrims be withdrawn. It appears the JKNPP, whose chairman Bhim Singh maintains very friendly relations with Governor N N Vohra, has thought it better to remain silent on this issue. Perhaps, the likes Bhim Singh, who always flirt with the Kashmiri secessionists and who also sometimes speak their ...

‘Jammuites die like insects, get peanuts as compensation’
6/5/2010 10:57:46 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 5: Sounds cheap but it happens here in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). Living life is miserable due to turmoil created by imbalance of socio-economic, political, regional and religious aspects. Above all corruption and dishonesty plays vital role in sorting issues. Only influential, politicians and bureaucrats seemingly enjoy life and all others are subjected to uncertainty, miseries and apathy. In the prevailing ironic situation, death at least gets compensation of Rs one lakh and 2 SPO jobs. A few days ago, one Paramjit Singh son of Thakur Singh of Bakshi Nagar was taken into police custody for questioning where he lost his life in suspicious circumstances. The ...

RUSTAM EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 5: A militant-turned-politician Firdous Syed has written an open letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Perhaps, he did so on Friday (June 4). In other words, he did so just on the eve of the Prime Minister's two-day-long visit to Srinagar. Whether or not he sent this open letter to the Prime Minister, it is not known. However, it did appear on Saturday in one of the Kashmir-based English language dailies. The open letter of Firdous Syed urges the Prime Minister to "make a fresh beginning". This appears to be the operative part of the quite lengthy open letter. There is nothing new in this so-called open letter. It only talks of things APHC chi...

This is how Kareena Kapoor reacts after drinking water in Jab we met. God bless the dame for the beautiful observation. Kareena may not be aware of the hazards of drinking Coca Cola but her advice needs to be followed especially when the Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine, Revised Second Edition, has made some frightening disclosures about Coca Cola. For some of them coke is as good, rather as bad as heroin. The experts say, in the first ten minutes, at least ten teaspoons of sugar hit the system (body). This is 100% increa...
