9/19/2010 1:08:32 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Sept 18: Even as a relaxation was given in curfew restrictions in parts of Srinagar, three persons were killed and 30 others wounded in fresh violence in Kashmir today. With Srinagar being the hub of ongoing protests across the valley, it was the 100th day of protests today. Although locals alleged the firing by security forces was unprovoked, a police spokesman said a mob tried to block the Srinagar-Baramulla national highway and started heavy stone pelting on security forces. "As security forces tried to control the situation, three persons were injured," he said. Clashes erupted in Anantnag town, 52 km from here in south Kashmir, after the body of a 10-year-old boy, missing since Monday, was fished out from river Jhelum, official sources said. Amitabh Mattoo's Pakistani bandwagon
9/19/2010 1:06:50 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 18: Amitabh Mattoo, who had acknowledged in Geneva that he didn't represent the displaced Kashmiri Hindus, says "It must be recognized that today almost the entire Valley has been overwhelmed by a collective expression of rage, led by the youth who were born or grew up during the years of militancy and who are driven by a sense of hopelessness." Who has been responsible for the rise of militancy in Kashmir? Mattoo knows it, but he would not say it publicly because such an acknowledgement would harm his personnel interests. 9/19/2010 1:06:28 AM
RUSTAM EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 18: Abdullah dynasty cannot survive without power and for achieving power and retaining control over it can go to any extent. It can stoop low. It can kill its conscious. It can become an object of contempt and ridicule. It threatens but eats its words in no time. It can shamelessly take a complete U-turn. And it has been happening since long. In fact, it all started with Sheikh Abdullah, father and founder of the rabidly communal and rabidly anti-Jammu outfit, National Conference. He wanted independence from India and his argument was the same Mohammad Ali Jinnah had advanced while seeking partition of India on communal lines. Jinnah's argument was ...

Today's bandh call hence had small bearings over the Quran desecration and a small protest if raised from some quarter was snubbed by the police--- has crept in inadvertently and is wrongly quoted and hence regretted....
