TOP STORY OF THE DAY
Ministers visiting Valley in hordes….political race or indiscipline in coalition…..?
1/18/2012 10:52:55 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 18: In what can be aptly seen as a 'political marathon' to score points, the allies of coalition in J&K are busy in mad race of visiting snow affected areas and district headquarters in Kashmir Valley - all to take stock of supply position and other arrangements for the people. Nearly a dozen of ministers belonging to both National Conference and Congress visited the Valley areas during the past 3-4 days and as many as 7 ministers in addition to one advisor to Chief Minister is camping in Valley. Not a single minister has visited any far flung areas of Jammu which too witnessed heavy snowfall triggering manifold hardships for the people in such areas. Call it political one upmanship or complete lack of coordination and cohesiveness among the ruling allies, the race towards Kashmir and visits to districts only reflects utter state of 'indiscipline' in the ruling coalition led by Omar Abdullah. The scene witnessed at least during the past two days shows desperate attempts of ministers of both the places to reach the places that witnessed heavy s...

1/18/2012 10:52:33 PM

The same was planned to implement from the next session, but till date nothing changed in the number of seats in MBBS. Growing rebellion within party perturbs BJP leadership
1/18/2012 10:51:57 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 18: With growing rebellion in the Party, BJP leadership is in a fix as how to keep its house in order after hardcore activists who have served the organizations for decades tighter are up in arms against the state leaders while some of them have already quit the party to show solidarity with the disqualified MLAs led by Prof Chaman Lal Gupta. Only one day after seven senior Party activists including two well known social activists Surinder Sharma from Jammu West and Swami Raj Sharma from Doda left the Party, BJP received another serious jolt with 20 women activists from Rural district Akhnoor including some senior functionaries and office bearers left the ...

Gen Singh being humiliated, A dangerous move
Lowering Soldier's Morale
1/18/2012 10:51:44 PM
Neha JAMMU, Jan 18: Chief of Army Staff General V K Singh is a finest soldier. His contribution to the Indian State has been immense. He is not just a great general; he is a great leader as well. He has always inspired soldiers and provided skillful and effective leadership to them. The result has been that the enemies of India in the Kashmir Valley are on their run. He is the one who told Chief Minister Omar Abdullah candidly that his demand for the revocation of AFSPA could not be conceded because it was fraught with dangerous ramifications. It was again he who hit the nail on the head by questioning the ideology of those in Kashmir and elsewhere who had been demanding revocation of AF...

Launching his regional outfit in Srinagar, which is now headed by his daughter and former Leader of the Congress Legislature Party in the Legislative Assembly Mehbooba Mufti, he declared that one of his main objectives would be to "persuade the Government of India to initiate an unconditional dialogue with Kashmiris for resolution of the Kashmir problem". Highway open for one-way traffic, but where are the supplies?
1/18/2012 10:51:11 PM
Early Times Report Srinagar, Jan 18: As if they follow a written script, ministers have started arriving in the Valley exactly coinciding with the improvement in the weather. This does not prove any heartburning concern for the welfare of the people who still continue to suffer for LPG, sugar, kerosene oil and other essential commodities of life. Ministers are proving they are arriving here as fair weather friends of the people. It is like extending an umbrella over the head of a person in sunshine and withdrawing it at the first signs of rain. Typical of their style of functioning, the ministers have issued statements here that there is no shortage of essential commodities in the Val...

Crisis in Pakistan, Advantage India
Kashmiri Secessionism -- II
1/18/2012 10:51:02 PM
Rustam JAMMU, Jan 18: As mentioned, Pakistan is in a very difficult situation. The executive is up in arms against the judiciary and the vice-versa. The executive has openly challenged the Army and the Army has paid back in the same coin. Prime Minister Gilani has virtually incited the people of Pakistan to rise in revolt against the Army and he has done so in the name of democracy. The Army has reposed its full faith in the judiciary and created a situation that would surely make them work together so that Gilani and President Asif Ali Zardari are reined in and showed their rightful place. Pakistan has witnessed many upheavals in the past, including three coups engineered by the Army. ...
