Mehbooba's Rajouri tour forced NC, Cong to re-devise strategy for coming Assembly elections
12/22/2013 11:10:39 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 22: Three days whirlwind tour of PDP president Mehbooba Mufti today the border district of Rajouri has forced National Conference and Congress to re-devise their strategy for the coming Assembly elections for this mountainous belt. It is observed that border districts of Poonch and Rajouri would hold key in formation of next government in Jammu and Kashmir because division of seat is imminent in Kashmir Valley so main political players have been concentrating only on erstwhile Doda district and Poonch-Rajouri belt. Mehbooba Mufti during his tour drew impressive gatherings and she emphasized only on backwardness and under-development of this region. Instead...

Differences within NC over Kitchloo induction in haste
12/22/2013 11:10:31 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 22: The state government has jumped the gun by relying on interim report of the judicial commission which had found Sajjad Kitchloo not 'guilty' for the violence in the Kishtwar which left three people dead in August. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said Kitchloo has set an example of principle. Though the commission is yet to give its final report and the main portion is hanging because of the non-responsive attitude of the state police which is headed by Omar himself. "What was the need for Omar to induct Kitchloo so soon and that too on the basis of the interim report, which itself is being questioned by all. He had jumped the gun and it could prove costly...

Kishtwar communal assault
12/22/2013 11:10:23 PM
Neha JAMMU, Dec 22: The submission by Justice R C Gandhi (Retd) of his interim report on August 9 communal assault on the minority Hindu community by rogue elements in the majority community has invoked response in Jammu province on expected lines. The BJP, the BSP and many other political organizations, barring the Kashmir-centricoutfits like the NC, Congress, CPI, CPI-M, SP, JDU and the LJP, and the community of lawyers have rejected outrightly the interim report saying it was a report not based on facts but a manipulated report. While the BJP held demonstrations across Jammu province on Saturday and gave a 48-hour bandh call to register its protest against Justice Gandhi and the NC-C...

Clean chit to Kitchloo
12/22/2013 11:10:03 PM
Neha JAMMU, Dec 22: The December 20 one-man commission of inquiry interim report on the August 9 Kishtwar despicable incident that kept the entire district under curfew for two weeks and angered the minority community and shattered its faith in the NC-Congress coalition government gave a clean chit to former MoS Home Sajjad Ahmad Kitchloo much to the chagrin of the entire minority community. That the report angered the minority community could be seen from the protests the angry people held in front of the residence of Justice R C Gandhi (Retd) and Raj Bhawan on Saturday and at more than 18 other places across the Jammu province. And if the nature of their anger is any indication, then ...

Most of these projects are yet to be commissioned. And Omar Abdullah has promised people that if he and his party were voted to power he would see to it that 9000 MWs of additional power was generated during the next six years.
