Union denial superficial, ET sticks to its report
2/17/2010 12:37:19 AM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 16: An unheard of union of employees of information department has sought to deny the news report published under the caption "Grappled with nepotism, information department needs overhauling" in the February 16 issue of The Early Times. Regional tensions in J&K a danger to its unity
2/17/2010 12:36:31 AM
RUSTAM Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 16: Things in J&K are far from normal. It is not just the ongoing violent movement in Kashmir that is posing a challenge to the unity and integrity of the state. It is also the inter-regional tensions which are facilitating the task of those who are working over and beneath the surface for the disintegration of the state. Another factor that is working in favour of those who are seeking the state’s dismemberment is the insistence of certain forces in Kashmir on separation from India, essentially on religious grounds. There are – apart from the demand in Kashmir for independence, greater autonomy, self-rule and merger into Pakistan -- many factors res...

Homecoming to militants Pak unlikely to oblige
2/17/2010 12:36:08 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 16: The amnesty proposal, which Delhi was preparing in consultation with the National Conference led Government, could prove a double edged weapon against Pakistan.Political analysts and security experts are of the view that if Islamabad agreed to accept India's demand for allowing those kashmiri youths, who had gone for arms training in occupied Kashmir, willing to return to the valley without weapons it would lend evidence to India's 20-year long charge that Pakistani agencies had helped the Kashmiri youths to receive arms training in camps set up across the LOC.Hitherto Islamabad has been consistent that it has been simply providing moral, diplomatic and poli...
