JAMMU, Feb 18: Stirring up a hornet’s nest by its spine chilling revelations, Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund in its 42nd volume of the selected works of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru has dented historical myth and from the historical archives unveiled how resolute was the decision of Nehru to expel Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah from political arena.
In the 42nd volume of the selected works of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru published by oxford university press and reviewed by noted Journalist A.G.Noorani, JNMF has given account of Nehru’s keenness in putting Sheikh behind the bars. It has disproved theories of Nehru being cornered by hardliners in New Delhi and also the other theory of the eagerness of certain political quarters to see Sheikh’s ouster.

SRINAGAR, Feb 18: Unidentified gunmen tonight killed an activist of the ruling National Conference (NC) at Hajjan---hometown of once the dreaded Ikhwan-ul-Muslimoon supremo Kukka Parray---in the Legislative Assembly Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone’s constituency in North Kashmir.

JAMMU, Feb 18:
Nearly 500 passengers, who were stranded in Ladakh and Gurez areas which remained cut off from the rest of the state due to snow in winters, were today airlifted by IAF.
The IAF deployed two AN-32 aircrafts to airlift 370 passengers between Zanskar, Leh, Kargil, Jammu and Srinagar, coordinator in Kashmir divisional commissioner's office, Aamir Ali said.

JAMMU, Feb 18: Shri Amarnath Shrine Board has kicked up another controversy by wisely curtailing duration of Amarnath yatra from two months to 45 days.
Yatra would begin on June 29 and conclude on August 13, 2011. Decision to this affect was taken during 20th meeting of the board held here today. Though the move is bound to generate heat in Jammu and elsewhere in the country, board has cited late snow clearance and falling of Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan) on August 13 this year instead of August 24 for curtailing duration of Yatra.
