Jammu: Asserting that Centre is committed address all the issues of the West Pakistani and POK refugees in Jammu, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh today acknowledged there were what he termed “some residual” problems they were facing towards which government would pay attention.
“ We have tried to give libral facilities and cover them under the economic package of Rs 50 cr sanctioned in 2008….But I do recognize there are still some residual problems on account of which they face difficulties”, Prime Minister said here today. Jammu: The Prime Minister who was quiet on the controversy that enveloped appointment of Central Vigilance Commissioner PJ Thomas, today broke his silence and said he accepted the responsibility for the same. However, he ruled out there were any coalition compulsions as far as his appointment was concerned. Prime Minister spoke a day after the Supreme Court quashed the controversial appointment of Thomas as the CVC.

DODA, Mar 4: After 21 years, a Doda resident, who had crossed over to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) surrendered before police in Doda along with his wife and three kids.
Police sources said that Mohammad Iqbal Shinali son of Bashir Ahmed Shinali of Doda crossed over to POK on November 18, 1990 for arms training and today all of sudden, he surrendered before the police in Doda along with his family which includes his wife and three children. The surrendered family was in the custody of police and they were being interrogated by senior police officers to extract the details how they reached Doda.

Under the first phase as many as 2,100 families would be covered in terms of allotment of the new , spacious two room tenements. NEW DELHI, Mar 4: The much-awaited reshuffle of the Congress hierarchy, which took place today, saw the exit of seven members from the Congress Working Committee (CWC) and two general secretaries Mohsina Kidwai and V.Narayanasamy who was recently made Minister of State in PMO.
Veteran party leader Arjun Singh, one of the seven dropped from the CWC, passed away a few hours later. Union Health Minister and former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is looking after poll-bound Tamil Nadu and now has also been made in-charge of Andhra Pradesh, where party is grappling with a number of issues including the separate statehood for Telangana.

The piece of land was given on lease by Maharaja Hari Singh to Major Rai Bahadur Thapa.
