If you make inquiries about the place where you can contact the Tourist place from even the police control Room you will get no information.The Jammu police Control Room and other Government agencies do not have any information about the office of Tourist police.Well one can imagine the importance that the Government has attached to this vital wing of the police.If tourists,including pilgrims to Mata Vaishnov Devi shrine,want to lodge a complaint against cheating or against robbery or against any misbehaviour from cab,three-wheeler owners the police stations normally do not register such complaints.Their standard answer is "go register your complaint with the tourist police."The excursionists and the pilgrims,cheated during their stay in Jammu,face an awkward situation.

A day after a local community organization Saini Sabha made imaginative allegations against two responsible members of community, it has turned out self styled association with self appointed president.
Members of the Saini Sabha have clarified that there is no president of this community's association with the name of Pritam Singh Saini. It may be mentioned here that one Pritam Singh Saini had dragged names of two well known and responsible members of the Sabha in a case pertaining to one Anil Kumar Saini registered at Domana Police Station.

DESPITE lapse of nearly a year the announcement made by the Government about setting up of high power employment mission is yet to take off. The State Government it seems has failed to implement its commitment made in this connection last year. The Government had announced that the Planning Minister would head the 6- member Mission.

India's intelligence agencies claimed Pakistan has planned to enhance financial support to India-based terror outfits.
According to an Intelligence Bureau report, Pakistan's Inter State Intelligence is planning to substantially enhance the financial support to militant groups operating in strife-torn Jammu & Kashmir state, to increase their activities in the run-up to the assembly elections in the state.

Jammu and Kashmir government will provide employment to 1.10 lakh youths in the state within the next two months.

About 1.8 million voter identity cards in Jammu and Kashmir would be re-verified to prevent their possible misuse, said an official. State’s chief electoral officer B.R. Sharma said in an interview to a newspaper Wednesday that two million new voter identity cards would be issued ahead of the forthcoming assembly elections here.
“We will verify 17 to 18 lakh (1.7-1.8 million) identity cards as the electoral photo identity card (EPIC) numbers of these cards did not match our records,” said Sharma.
The police had claimed recovery of around a dozen voter identity cards from slain militants three months back.
