It is not because of the hatred for him but they hold the view that they could land in trouble if they do so. They feel that the strangers, who seek information about him, could possibly turn out to be cops in mufti, or some gangsters. Wanted in the brutal murders of three Chopra family members, their driver and a servant in the posh Trikuta Nagar, he ran a small video shop in Akhnoor town and was little known then. But as time passed by, he attained notoriety for not letting his rivals get him down. His revengeful and unforgiving behaviour gradually moulded him into a man who now was the state's most wanted criminal in police records. In 1991, he shot at and wounded Tony Gupta of Akhnoor for allegedly showering abuses on him. Tony later died in a road mishap and, with this, his ememity with him ended.
