His journey from video shop to J&K's most wanted criminal
6/12/2011 10:57:17 PM
BHARAT BHUSHAN JAMMU, June 12: Even in the Akhnoor streets, which had been his hangout once, people avoid discussing Sanju in public nowadays. It is not because of the hatred for him but they hold the view that they could land in trouble if they do so. They feel that the strangers, who seek information about him, could possibly turn out to be cops in mufti, or some gangsters. Wanted in the brutal murders of three Chopra family members, their driver and a servant in the posh Trikuta Nagar, he ran a small video shop in Akhnoor town and was little known then. But as time passed by, he attained notoriety for not letting his rivals get him down. His revengeful and unforgiving behaviour gradually moulded him into a man who now was the state's most wanted criminal in police records. In 1991, he shot at and wounded Tony Gupta of Akhnoor for allegedly showering abuses on him. Tony later died in a road mishap and, with this, his ememity with him ended. Around 1995, he allegedly shot dead top criminal Jagdev Singh alias Jeban of Dumi Malpur in full public view in Akhnoor town. A s...

Can Cm deny entry to Amnesty International ?
Shun this `baneful’ practice
6/12/2011 10:55:43 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, June 12: Kashmir may soon become out of bounds for Kashmir Committee chairman, Ram Jethmalani. This is what the informed sources have revealed. If it actually happens then the noted lawyer will be the second person to face the ban. Earlier the government barred Delhi based human rights defender, Gautam Navlakha from entering Srinagar. Like father like son. Omar Abdullah has falsified the adage. His father Dr Farooq Abdullah never restrained anybody from entering Kashmir even when militancy was at its peak. Omar is more like his `great’ grandfather. Sher-e-Kashmir denied entry to some persons and also exiled people. When RSS ideologue Shyama Prasad Mukherj...

Kashmiriyat compassionate and Dogriyat…
What An Irony
6/12/2011 10:52:42 PM
STARK REALITY RUSTAM EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, June 12: What is Dogriyat? There is nothing in the political literature that defines Dogriyat. Yes, part of the Dogri literature does talk very high of Dogriyat. It makes us believe that the Dogras are very sweet people. All the Dogra writers hail Dogri and a noted Dogra poet describes them as “khand mithe lok Dogre.” The Dogra poets and writers also describe them as “simple, large-hearted, all accommodating, hardworking and nationalists to the core.” As for those who matter in the political field, media, think-tanks, trouble-shooters and commentators, they find nothing among the Dogras that could be hailed, appreciated and promoted. In fa...

Strongly reacting to the Chief Minister’s statement the leaders of various KP organizations said the statement shows that Omar Abdullah is bereft of facts on Kashmir and its history and does not know that the Kashmiriyat about every Kashmiri politician boasts of has its origin in Rishi cult of Kashmir.
