Congress & 13/7 Mumbai terrorist attacks | Rahul, Digvijay under attack | | Rustam
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 17: The terrorists once again struck and blasted Mumbai at three busy places. They liquidated at least 20 innocent civilians and left more than 130 others injured, some of them grievously. The attacks outraged the nation and virtually held the Congress-led UPA Government responsible for the attacks on the financial capital of India, which has been suffering at the hands of Pakistan-backed, motivated and indoctrinated terrorists at regular intervals since 1993, including the 26/11 terrorist attacks. (The 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai are described as 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks in the United States.) The nation accused the Congress of pursuing "weak-kneed policy towards terrorism." The Congress was also charged with pursuing "soft approach towards them as the Congress is interested more in the vote-bank politics and appeasement than in the national security."
The charges levelled against the Congress are indeed very serious. The Shiv Sena - Bal Thakre (SSB) even went to the extent of asking the authorities to book Congress general secretar...

| | 'Change' in Press Note contents reflects puzzled face of BJP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 17 : The state unit of BJP had to cut a sorry figure changing the 'tone and tenor' of the press note it issued on Saturday at least three times that focussed on hitting out at Congress leadership at the central level in the wake of Mumbai serial blasts. The repetition of the same statement with corrections reflected either directionless affairs within or lack of knowledge on policy matters of the party while it lashes out at opponent Congress on key issues. It only brought embarrassment to the leadership at a time when the newly appointed incharge and co incharge came to Jammu for the first time to assume their assignments.
The press note with hard hitting ...
| | Producers resent DD's patronage of tainted officials | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, July 17: Massive resentment is growing among freelance television producers and artists against Prasar Bharti's policy of protecting tainted officials of Doordarshan in Jammu & Kashmir.
DD's Directorate General, Prasar Bharti and Ministry of Information & Broadcasting are still groping in the dark with regard to appointment of a non-controversial and dedicated official as Director of Doordrashan Kendra (DDK) Srinagar. Even as Dr Rafeeq Masoodi has been relieved, finally with a note of urgency, DD has not appointed any official to head one of the oldest stations in Srinagar.
Completing a formality as per the tradition, Masoodi has handed over his charge to the...
| | Duggar Pradesh appropriate name for Jammu province | Historical Necessity - I | | Neha
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 17: The framers of the Jammu & Kashmir Constitution did not commit a mistake by incorporating in the constitution words "Jammu Province and Kashmir Province." The framers of the constitution only acknowledged that there existed in the state distinct geographically, ethnically, culturally, politically and historically entities. At the same time, however, they did not dispense justice to Ladakh. They merged Ladakh with Kashmir province. That's the reason the people of Ladakh consistently question the nomenclature of the state. Hitherto, Ladakh was an integral part of the nomenclature of the state. The demand in Ladakh for separation from Jammu and Kashmir...

There is no denying the fact that the political strength of a politician cannot be measured by the number of people attending his rally as most of them are hired but Mufti's rally was...
