One year on, Project officers fail to complete surveys for UPAP scheme
HUDD issues warnings to withhold increment/promotion
12/16/2014 12:15:41 AM
Akshay Azad Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 15: The District Project Officers (DPOs) of Housing and Urban Development Department (H&UDD) have reportedly failed to complete surveys for implementation of a centrally sponsored scheme, in the last one year. Infuriated over the failure, the HUDD authorities have reprimanded these officers and warned them of withholding their increment/promotion. Sources informed Early Times that for the implementation of Urban Poverty Alleviation Programme (UPAP) in Jammu and Kashmir, the HUDD had initiated surveys for identification of urban poor in various districts of state. The District Urban Development Agencies (DUDA) were assigned the job to complete the surveys, but it has been reported that after the lapse of nearly one year, the DUDA failed to do the needful despite repeated reminders by the department. They further informed that the lackadaisical approach of DUDAs could be gauged from fact that survey of district headquarters, where the implementation of National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM) was to be carried out in first phase was not co...

PDP likely to seek Cong support for Govt formation
12/16/2014 12:15:20 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 15: The PDP is most likely to take support of the Congress if need rises. The party may not like to go with the BJP as it could damage it politically in Kashmir, though the party has planned to have cordial relations with the BJP led Central government. A hint was dropped about the possible coalition government by PCC president Saif-ud-Din Soz that Congress could be determining factor in the secular coalition government. The PDP is though hopeful of forming the government on its own. It has till now had a good run in the first four phases. But according to reports the Congress may not perform as badly as has been predicted. It has off late got onto the ...

Amira Kadal, Habba Kadal unlikely to go to BJP kitty
50% KPs held aloof from election
12/16/2014 12:15:04 AM
Masood Malik Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 15: The Kashmiri Pandits once again demonstrated their lack of interest in the ongoing electoral exercise and did not vote in large numbers in the constituencies where their number was quite substantial. On the other hand, Kashmiri Muslim voters exercised their right to vote in good numbers to ensure that the BJP failed to open its account in Kashmir Valley. That the KPs had been consistently losing interest in the assembly election could be seen from the fact that while 60 per cent, 58 per cent and 56 per cent KP voters exercised their right to vote in the first, second and third phases, respectively, only 50 per cent of KP migrant voters exerci...

12/16/2014 12:14:54 AM
