Ignoring BJP 'cause' for bandh, Omar re-asserts on remarks over Accession | Says US can 'facilitate' Indo-Pak dialogue over Kashmir | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Nov 8: Notwithstanding the BJP sponsored bandh today against the remarks of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah over Accession of J&K to India, the latter chose to assert that he had no regrets over his 'utterances'. Omar said he stood by what he stated on the floor of the Assembly as this was the 'political reality' of the J&K state.
On the first day of re opening of offices in the winter capital, when BJP and other organizations called for bandh to convey Jammu's resentment over the remarks, Omar went on to say he was conscious what he said, asserting that he knew well Assembly was the most appropriate Forum to echo this sentiment and he completely stood by every word he uttered on the floor of the House.

JAMMU, Nov 8: The state vigilance organization (SVO) has registered a case in the Rs 20 cr scam in the Lethpora branch of J&K Bank against officials of revenue, bank and others.
An FIR under sections 409, 120-B, 467, 468 and 471 of RPC was earlier registered at Awantipora police station.
The home department had subsequently referred the case to SVO for its thorough investigation.
Official sources said the SVO had registered a fresh case under sections 5(1) (c), 5(1) (d) and 5(2) of prevention of corruption Act, 2006, besides the offences under sections 120-B, 409, 468 and 471 of RPC against the accused.

JAMMU, Nov 8: In a daylight theft in the house of a government school teacher at Reasi, burglars today decamped with gold jewellery worth Rs 4 lakh.
Police sources said the incident took place when Om Prakash -- a government school teacher -- had gone to a relative's house along with his family.
The theft was detected by him after he returned home after spending over four hours in the relative's house, the sources added. Sources said gold ornaments worth Rs 4 lakh were stolen from the house. JAMMU, Nov 8: An Air Force helicopter today crashed in the icy heights of Siachin, resulting in injuries to two pilots on board.The helicopter was on routine flight to the Siachin glacier when the incident occured, defence sources said.
