EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 3: While 332 inmates have ended their lives in state's "high security" police lockups, 111 others have managed to flee from there in the past two decades. Apart from the poor security bandobast at police stations, their dilapidated condition was also responsible to some extent for the inmates' escape from there. Figures show that most of the inmates had fled from the police stations or police posts which did not have toilets. While cops took them outside, they had managed to give them a slip while attending, or pretending to attend the call of nature. Others, who found it hard to flee, or who could not bear the alleged police torture, ended their lives i...
