In the pre-agitation era, Rana had grown increasingly important. He was present everywhere much to the discomfort of some senior ministers. He did not even hesitate planting stories against some of them in local newspapers. The agitation, NC leaders believe, cut Rana to size.
Davinder Rana is to Omar Abdullah what Ashok Jaitely was to Dr Farooq Abdullah. Jaitly was the master and senior ministers had to listen to him. Omar is no different. Rana is the shadow Chief Minister and runs the show.
