Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 29: The Minister for Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din is in for more trouble. Apart from facing annexing forest land and prime land at Polo View, he has now being accused of helping his friends from Jammu by overt and covert means. Reports that speak of allotment of contract in violation of rules for procuring quick coupling pipes from Nidhi Pipes Ltd, Chandigarh being done to benefit his close friends from Jammu. As if it was not enough,allegations of encroachment of State land along Tawi River side in the name of beautification/re-alignment of Tawi have also come to the fore suggesting Minister's involvement in the encroachment. Sources told Early Times today that when he took over as Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control in 2009, Taj Mohi-ud-din entered into an agreement with Nidhi Pipes Ltd. Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 29: Chief minister, enjoying cool weather of London, thousands of miles away from N Delhi, listed out an ambitious list of wishes to the Centre. Omar , probably the only chief minister to skip National Development Council (NDC) meeting held at New Delhi and chaired by Prime Minister had asked the Centre to grant Rs 68,000 crores for development during 12th plan and an additional Rs. 32,000 crores for laying metro in Jammu and Srinagar. Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 29: It is not that the state police has a short memory when it admits that the militants killed in the Pulwama encounter were behind the grenade attack that killed four women tourist in Bijbehara this July. Refuting strongly the media reports those had clearly said that militants had hurled a grenade at the tourist bus that exploded inside resulting in fatal injuries to the passengers, the state police had categorically said a cooking gas cylinder had exploded inside the bus. Saahil Suhail Anantnag, Dec 29: A local court here on Satu-rday convicted two persons accused of kidnapping and murder of a businessman. District and Session Judge Anantnag Abdul Rashid Malik convicted the two accused ten years after committing the crime. The deceased businessman, Mukhtar Ah-mad of Dangarpora Ana-ntnag was kidnapped by the accused Fayaz Ahmad Shah and Syed Bhat on 10 October 2003 and later killed brutally. The Public Prosecutor, Abbas Hamid Dar recalled that on October 10, 2003, the victim was kidnapped by the duo and later his body was recovered from Kanelwan Bijbehara.
