EARLY TIMES REPORT
KALAKOTE, Feb 15: Taking a dig on the politics of People’s Democratic Party and Bharatiya Janata Party, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said that while the former has developed the trait of making brazen faced lies in public, the later has the habit of opposing all good things for the sake of opposition.
Addressing a mammoth public meeting here, Omar said that the records in Legislative Assembly are testimony to the fact that PDP voted against the resolution, moved by the CPI (M) leader, M Y Tarigami, and supported by the National Conference regarding the surrender and rehabilitation of the youth, who had crossed across LoC and borders during militancy.
“Some people are habitual of telling lies in private while others shamelessly speak falsehood publicly,” he said, referring to the claim made by PDP that the party supported the idea regarding surrender and rehabilitation of militants.
Reiterating his Government’s firm commitment for upholding human rights and punishing the culprits on this count, the Chief Minister said that his government would not allo... | |

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 15: Grappling with the problems of nepotism, blatant favouritism and "dis"information since long, the state information department (SID) is in dire need of an immediate overhauling for its "smooth and flawless" functioning.
Flouting all norms, the department heads have allegedly been giving unfair advantages to their juniors that they like best with impunity from law.
In December 2009, SID director Farooq Ahmad Renzu ordered promotion of Surinder from qatib to TPO (teleprinter operator), allegedly ignoring department's seniority list.
Even as Surinder fell at No 4 in the list, he was benefitted by the director, bypassing the seniority of others.
