| Shabir Khan still absconding, police yet clueless about his whereabouts | | | | Bashir Assad
SRINAGAR, Feb 8: Former junior Minister for Health Shabir Ahmad Khan is still absconding though there were rumors that Khan has surrendered before police in Gandhi Nagar police station. Shabir is wanted in a high profile sexual assault case registered against him in Police Station Shahid Gunj in Srinagar.
Though rumors were rife that Khan surrendered before police in Gandhi Nagar. However, late evening reports confirmed that Khan was still absconding and has not yet surrender nor has police made any headway so far in arresting him. When contacted SP City South, Rahul Malik said that these are just rumors and that the former Minister has not yet surrendered.
"No these are just rumors, he (Khan) has not surrendered before the police in Gandhi Nagar," Rahul told Early Times.
It was also reported by a section of media that soon after he surrendered, Khan was flown to Srinagar by a special team of police; however, police in Srinagar did not confirm the surrender and subsequent shifting of Khan to Srinagar. Jammu, Feb 8: National Conference (NC) has succumbed to the pressure of its coalition partner Congress on implementing the 73rd amendment in the state.

SRINAGAR, Feb 8: Former Health Minister Shabir Khan has gone in hiding after a court issued a warrant of arrest against him. A special team of the police was formed to arrest him amid apprehensions that he may leave the country.
According to reports Khan was in Jammu till late evening of Friday and fled during the night. Sources said that authorities have started making detailed enquiries in to the matter and the police have contacted Shabir Khan's personal and official staff to ascertain his whereabouts.
