SRINAGAR, June 22: In their struggle to make the state-controlled Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd accountable to public, RTI activists have discovered that union Ministry of Finance had directed Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to treat J&K Bank as a government bank as long as the state government retained over 50% of shares in it.

Jammu, June 22: In what could be termed as "infighting" in policing, district police circle Udhampur recently observed how a senior officer reprimanded subordinate staff for dereliction of duty and how that senior's senior turned down the punishment as if it was "unwarranted".
The incident is not much old. About a week back, a senior police officer after detecting indiscipline while on duty placed two police personnel under suspension. Udhampur, June 22: Two persons were arrested by the Police in connection with the alleged rape of a woman in a village of Udhampur district. Police said the duo pounced upon woman when she was returning to her home from her parental house on foot through a isolated forest area in Darsoo Udhampur.
