SRINAGAR, June 28: With the situation in Valley deteriorating fast and several politicians demanding Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's resignation after a Cabinet Minister's admission of command and control failure, two more youngsters today died in CRPF firing in Sopore area and over a hundred others sustained injuries in day-long clashes between demonstrators and paramilitary forces. New Delhi, June 28: With CRPF coming under attack for the death of civilians in Jammu and Kashmir, Home Secretary G K Pillai tonight said people who break curfew and attack police posts cannot be termed as "innocent civilians".
He also said chief minister Omar Abdullah was handling the situation "to the best of his ability".
"In a place where curfew is imposed, people break curfew, go ahead and attack police posts, CRPF posts. I don't think you can call them by any stretch of imagination innocent civilians," Pillai said.
Asked about the death of a nine-year-old boy in the latest incident of firing in Sopore, he said the person killed was a 17-year-old youth.

Jammu, June 28: Fire today erupted in Trikuta hills where housing the cave shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi is located in Jammu and Kashmir but pilgrimage to the shrine was not affected, police officials said.
The fire erupted in a dense forest belt adjacent to Bhawan area of Trikuta hills in Katra tehsil of Reasi district late this afternoon and spread to other areas, they said. Jammu, Two brothers were today arrested by police for allegedly beating their neighbour to death at Jourian in Akhnoor. Land dispute was stated to be the reason behind the incident, police sources said.
The accused were identified as Balbir Singh alias Kala and Papu Choudhary, both sons of Punnu Ram, of Jourian, and the victim as Purshotam Lal (48), son of Kunj Lal.
Sources said the two families clashed over the demarcation of a piece of land at Jourian at about 9.30 am. Jammu, Thirteen rifle grenades and other explosive items were today recovered by security forces from a militant hideout which was busted by them in Lidrari Pyas forests of Atholi in Kishtwar. Police and 17 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) troops were making searches in Lidrari Pyas forests when they came across a natural cave. Police sources said the search of the cave led troops to the recovery of 13 rifle grenades,two wireless sets, two AK magazines and 954 AK rounds. JAMMU/NEW DELHI, June 28: Under fire for allegedly shooting on a mob which stoned its Kapra headquarters at Sopore in Kashmir Sunday, CRPF today washed its hands of the fatal shootings and said "its role is only to assist police". In New Delhi, CRPF director general Vikram Srivastava, who was keeping a close vigil on Sopore developments, refuted allegations of high-handedness in tackling protestors at Sopore and said CRPF was working along with the J&K police. While the state is facing an unemployment problem, but Rajouri Public Health Engineering department has reportedly forgotten to retire its atleast 80 officials, among them 24 are being 'forcibly' superannuated on June 30 and 14 have already been relieved from the department.
