DDK Srinagar records burnt in low intensity blast on Aug 28th; Official critical at SMHS; Case being hushed up
9/6/2011 1:55:10 AM
Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 5: Beneficiaries of the loot-and-scoot in Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) Srinagar, allegedly hand-in-glove with officials at Mandi House and Prasar Bharti headquarters in New Delhi, are currently burning midnight oil to ensure that there was no investigation into illegal approval of in-house programmes worth Rs 52 Cr, distributed during last three months of Dr Rafeeq Masoodi's tenure in Srinagar. Private producers and artists have, meanwhile, demanded a thorough investigation by CBI Delhi into the mysterious blaze of August 28th when a number of files were destroyed in record room of DDK Srinagar and one of the officials sustained critical injuries. Srinagar District Police's lackadaisical initiative in the DDK Srinagar blaze is being widely interpreted as a "hush up" by the fraternity of freelance producers and artists in the Valley. Fresh enquiries revealed that FIR was not registered for several days at Police Station Kothibagh and, surprisingly, there was no mention of an official having sustained critical burn injuries. Perverted Thinking
Neha9/6/2011 1:49:37 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 5: CPI-M general secretary Prakash Karat visited Kashmir sometime back for an on-the-spot-assessment of the situation in the Valley. It was expected that he would express solidarity with communalists in Kashmir, share the views of those who create anarchy in the Valley and recommend maximum possible autonomy for Kashmir and he did that. He not only condemned the killings in the Valley and took to task the security forces for using bullets against the law breakers and anti-India elements, but also shamelessly asserted that Kashmir is a "special case." Earlier in Andhra Pradesh, he had said: "The people of Kashmir have to be assured that their identity and spe...

Questionable Jammu Leadership Omar again ups his ante against India, advocates political solution
Rustam9/6/2011 1:47:36 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 5: The National Conference contested assembly elections in 2008 hoping that it would sweep the polls like it swept the polls in 1996. But it did not happen. It could capture only 28 seats. The NC had captured 28 seats out of a total of 87 seats in 2002 as well. The NC got the minimum number of votes both in 2002 and 2008. The PDP had captured more seats in 2008 as compared to the NC. The PDP had captured 21 seats. The performance of the NC both in 2002 and 2008 established beyond any shadow of doubt that it had lost its popularity and that even the people of Kashmir didn't repose the kind of confidence that they reposed in 1996, when the party captured more ...

Our readers have stood by us while all vested interests and those who feel grossly insecure due to our brave, outspoken and straightforward criticism of the corrupt, inefficient, anti-national and anti-social elements, ganged up to harm the interests of Early Times. During the last session of the State Legislative Assembly, an hon'ble member of assembly, Shri Chaman Lal Gupta of the BJP asked a very pertinent question regarding the state government's attitude towards Early Times. The hon'ble member had asked a question seeking the gover...
