In one of the important decisions taken up in the routine agenda in today's meeting, the cabinet today gave extension to the committee constituted by the government for the purpose of giving recommendations for creation of new administrative units across the state. The Committee headed at present by Mushtaq Ahmad Ganai, had sought more timefor submitting its final report. However the cabinet today gave approval for extension of only six months to this committee which is going to make recommendations at all levels in the administrative set up across the state....

EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 21: In first ever major shake up in the J&K Police Department the NC led coalition government today effected transfers and postings of senior officers, some of them of the rank of IPS including IGPs and DIGs. The reshuffle that witnessed transfers andnew postings of as many as 84 officers also incorporates shifting of some SSPs and SPs at the district level. Early times report JAMMU, Dec 21: In the much publicized murder case of Chopra Family, Principal Sessions Judge Jammu AK Shan today adjourned the case for arguments on January 11, 2011. The murder of cement Tycoon RB Chopra and his wife Madhu Chopra, daughter Saloni Chopra, Servant Sonu and driver Jagan Nath, on September 18, 2006. A Special Investigation team was constituted. new delhi: Less than a week after Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao left India following a three-day visit, it has come to light that Beijing has taken up 24 new projects along the Brahmaputra river and its tributaries. The projects, detected by the intelligence agencies, are believed to be mostly hydro-power projects, a leading daily reported on Tuesday. Last year, the National Technical Research Organization (NTRO) had stated that the Chinese were building some half-a-dozen hydro-power projects along the Brahmaputra river on their side.
