Rampant violation of promotion policy by Agriculture Minister | Blue-eyed juniors supersede their seniors | | Akshay Azad
Jammu, Aug 19: The pick and choose policy is ruling the roost in Agriculture Production Department as a good number of "blue eyed" juniors have been promoted over the seniors in violation of norms, at the behest of the Minister.
Sources informed Early Times that some blue eyed officers of Agriculture department have been promoted reportedly on the instructions of the Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir in utter violation of seniority and norms, leaving the seniors humiliated as they have to report their juniors, who have been promoted to senior positions by greasing the palms of higher ups.
According to seniority list of officers, Sudesh Koul, with serial seniority number 123, is top in the list of officers, but SS Jamwal with seniority number 126, who is three steps junior to him, was appointed as Director Agriculture Jammu, in violation of norms. Sudesh Koul who is in the top of seniority list is given the post of Joint Director, a post lower in grade than Director.
Bypassing the seniority list, Sushil Sahni having seniority serial number 393 has been appointed as Director...

SKIMS teaching MBBS sans medical science facilities | 10 departments defunct! | | Syed Junaid Hashmi
Jammu, Aug 19: With requisite infrastructure and teaching faculty almost crippled in Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura, MBBS teaching in the college is virtually on crutches.
If the report of Medical Council of India (MCI) is any indication, the college has nothing on the name of infrastructure and teaching faculty. 10 departments are facing serious shortage of infrastructure with management doing little to address this grave issue and spending more time seemingly on convincing MCI that MBBS and other course in the college should not be derecognised since this could lead to further alienation of youth in Kashmir valley.

Jammu, Aug 19: Over enthusiasm sometimes backfires and this is what exactly happened during a daylong Booth Level Workers' Convention held here today at KK Resorts, Udheywala, Talab Tillo as despite extending a formal invitation to media persons, they were asked to leave the venue just before the event had to commence.
The 'commandment' to media persons to leave the meeting hall fumed them since they had not come on their own but were formally invited through an email sent by media cell of BJP to all media organizations/reporters and cameramen.
The drama began when the General Secretary of BJP Bali Bhagat, who was managing the dais, repeatedly asked the media persons...

Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 19: The Chief Minister is apparently still reluctant to contest forthcoming Assembly elections. It's for this reason that he has not announced his candidature.
The announcement of the CM's candidature was expected a day after his close confidante Devender Rana's name was cleared from the Nagrota constituency. People expected Omar's candidature as well but it did not happen giving rise to speculations about the intent of the Omar to contest elections.
The reluctance stems from the fact that Omar's is still not confident. The CM has still not decided from which constituency he has to contest. There were reports that he may not contest from the Ganderbal. T...

Jammu, Aug 19: The massive defeat in the Lok sabha has left the Congress and the NC clueless. In fact, they have lost their way completely. They are making statements which only prove that. If Congress spokesperson Salman Soz is terming the Shiite Muslims as non-Muslims or a "minority community", NC senior leader and former Lok Sabha MP Mehboob Beg is describing the BJP victory as a victory of "nefarious designs".
