Jammu, Jan 8: Even as the Republic day is far ahead, security in entire Kashmir valley especially in the summer capital has been beefed up. Additional policemen have been deployed at sensitive spots to maintain strict vigil.
The police was seen frisking pedestrians and checking vehicles at several places including Lal Chowk in the summer capital today. The police also checked identity cards of the people.

| | 3 held for stabbing MBS college teacher | | | JAMMU: Three youth, who Tuesday caused serious injuries to a MBS engineering college teacher with sharp-edged weapons on Exchange Road here, were today apprehended by police.
Parvinder Singh, a teacher in MBS college, was attacked with sharp-edged weapons by three motorcyclists on Exchange Road Tuesday night.
He was later admitted to GMC hospital. Police today arrested all the three youth allegedly involved in the incident, according to police sources.
