| Anticipating defeat in Jammu, Congress targets PDP | | Elections that will determine future of NC | | | Neha
JAMMU, Apr 28: It was the National Conference (NC) leadership that for the first time charged the PDP with flirting with the "communal and divisive" BJP and fielding candidates in the Jammu-Poonch and Kathua-Udhampur parliamentary constituencies to mar the poll prospects of the Congress candidate - Madan Lal Sharma and Ghulam Nabi Azad. NC president Farooq Abdullah, NC working president and CM Omar Abdullah and who not in the NC used all available opportunities to convince the people that a vote for the PDP candidates in Jammu province would be a vote for the BJP candidates Jugal Kishore Sharma and Jitendra Singh and BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as well as for communalism and abrogation of Article 370. In fact, the past more than 45 days have witnessed the NC leadership repeatedly targeting the PDP and the latter vehemently denying any kind of nexus between it and the BJP and asserting that it, like all other parties, has every right to test political waters in the entire state of Jammu & Kashmir. No one could deprive the PDP of its right to contest in any or...

| | | | Has NC decided to become B-team of separatists? | | | | Early Times Report
srinagar, Apr 28: The election campaign of National Conference led by Dr. Farooq Abdullah has generated more heat than light. His statement that Kashmir would secede from India if India became a communal country has been nothing less than trying to fan separatist sentiments in the Valley.
The controversial statement came just a day after two brave hearts of the country including a major and a sepoy of the army laid down their lives fighting militants who had killed a polling officer and injured five others when Anantnag Lok Sabha seat went to vote.
BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has taken a serious exception to the statement made by a leader like Dr. Far...

JAMMU, Apr 28: What is it that is going on in the Kashmir Valley at a time when the NC candidates are facing a stiff challenge from the PDP and political pundits are opining that the NC is unlikely to repeat its 2009 performance in the Valley? Indeed, all is not well with the ruling coalition comprising the NC and the Congress. The NC leadership, which badly needs the support of the Congress to repeat its 2009 performance, is appreciating and denouncing the Congress at the same time and the local Congress leaders speaking in different languages as far as their approach towards the NC is concerned. Infact, both the parties are vertically divided as far as their attitude towards each ...

| | | | Omar digging dead issues during electioneering | | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 28: If Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, is trying to rake up old and extraneous issues during the ongoing election campaign he cannot be faulted. Infact digging bodies from the old graves continues to be part of electioneering in India whether during the Assembly and the Lok Sabha elections. Congress has started raking up Gujarat riots after 12 years and the BJP has started talking about killing of Sikhs in 1984 in Delhi.
Omar Abdullah's mind seems to have been hit by a political incident or event that took place in 1984 in Kashmir when during the last one month of electioneering he had not hit upon that idea. He talked about the mischief behind the toppling of...
