SRINAGAR, Feb 11: The recent alleged delay by police in registering First Information Report (FIR) against erstwhile Health Minister, Shabir Khan is not new as in the past police has been found wanting in taking action against the people who matter in the government or administration.
On April 19, 2011 the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Asgar Hassan Samoon after finding something fishy in a case of mutation ordered for registering FIR against then Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo. Almost three years down the line no FIR has been registered against Kakroo who is nowadays Managing Director, Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC).
"It is prima facie observed that mutation has been attested under Roshni for the share of the deceased lessee. Besides, an amount of Rs 30 lakhs has been deposited against the assessed amount of Rs one crore per kanal. FIR needs to be lodged against the delinquents and Deputy Commissioner concerned," writes Samoon in the order.
