Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 19: Two days after the Defence Minister AK Antony gave antagoninsing remarks and expressed reservations with regard to revocation of AFSP and Disturbed Areas Act in J&K, the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today ruled out any differences on what he said ‘the thought process’ between the Centre and the State government on reviewing of the same in certain parts of state where the incidents of militancy have registered sharp decline. “We are keen to revoke the implementation of these laws and see restoration of normalcy in this direction…….but we cannot expect change overnight as things are being reviewed in accordance with situation ground……..any decision has to be taken while taking keeping security considerations on mind…”, said the Chief Minister while addressing media at party headquarters this evening. Contending that there were no differences between state and centre, Omar claimed his government enjoys full support of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson, Home Minister and Defense on the issue of gradual easing of provisions of AFS...

Jammu: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said that the government has taken cognizance of the report on alleged land grabbing cases following which categorical directions have been given to the vigilance organization to book any one whosoever he may be and whatever party he belongs to. JAMMU, Feb 19: Carrying forward their investigation in the fake gun licence racket busted few days back, police Friday night sealed two gun shops at Residency Road here and seized their record. The raided shops included Suresh Armoury and Singh Gun House,police sources said. Apart from sealing the shops and seizing their record for scrutiny, police also picked up two employees -- Harmeet Singh and Rahul. Their sustained questioning was on. The shop owners were evading arrest and a hunt was on to apprehend them too, the sources added. Govt to take action against businessman for forging PRC

Jammu, Feb 19: The government would initiate criminal proceedings against a businessman in Kathua for allegedly forging his permanent resident certificate (PRC). The PRC of Krishan Lal of Kathua was fake and all benefits obtained by him on its basis had been cancelled and withdrawn forthwith, Kathua district magistrate Zahida Khan said. Criminal proceedings would be initiated against him for producing forged documents, she added.
