| Kundal heaves sigh of relief to be sworn in today | | Likely to get Revenue, Education | | | Early Times Reporter

As the ice melts after the gap of five days in the corridors of civil secretariat, former chief secretary BR Kundal will be sworn in as minister after induction into the state cabinet on Friday.
Though the bureaucrat turned politician had to sworn in as minister on June 2nd but due to some unknown reasons the sworn in ceremony was postponed reportedly due to strong resentment from with in the congress and ruling alliance partner PDP.
Sources informed that BR Kundal, a 1972 batch IAS officer, is all set to take over as minister in Jammu and Kashmir. He will be sworn in as cabinet minister by Governor Lt Gen SK Sinha at Raj Bhawan Srinagar on Friday evening.
The IAS officer, who took over as chief secretary on the retirement of C Phunsog in October, last year had to continue till his retirement in February 2009. However, the officer, holding highest post in state bureaucracy, relinquished his job for political aspirations, sources said.

Indian army on Thursday handed over two Pakistani soldiers, apprehended inside Indian territory near the line of control in Pallanwala sector on wednesday, to the Pakistan army as a good will gesture.
According to Ministry of defence spokesperson in Jammu Lt Col SD Goswami," two Pakistani soldiers who had inadvertently strayed across to the Indian side were handed over to Pak Army at a Flag Meeting today afternoon as a goodwill gesture". With final touches being given to the arrangements for this year's Shri Amarnathji yatra, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) has been put on top gear to ensure a smooth and well regulated pilgrimage.
Governor, Lt. General (Retd) S K Sinha, who heads the Board, took stock of the arrangements made with regard to track clearance and raising of temporary pre-fab structures at Baltal and the Holy Cave. Twenty-three-year-old Samrina was recently shot dead in an encounter. Security forces say Samrina was a Lashkar-e-Toiba militant but her family claims she was being used by the agencies to “trap” a terrorist she fell in love with.
