JAMMU, Sept 25: Close on the heels of the visit of the all-party delegation to Srinagar, Centre today came forth with its eight point formula to defuse the volatile situation in Kashmir. Many of the suggestions given by them form part of the important new initiative announced by the government after the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) met here today, sending a strong message about the government's seriousness to address the grievances of the people of Kashmir.
Announcing an eight-point Kashmir formula, the Centre today said a Group of Interlocutors led by an eminent persons will hold "sustained dialogue" with all sections of Jammu and Kashmir and also review deployment of security forces in the Valley, especially in Srinagar. The 30-minute CCS meeting was presided by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

JAMMU, Sept 25: Solving the sensational murder of Indica taxi driver Gurpreet Singh, police have apprehended two of the accused from Amritsar in Punjab.
Gurpreet (23), son of Mohan Singh of Nanak Nagar, was on September 3 murdered near Nagrota here and his body was thrown in a roadside nullah.
The accused, who hired the Indica from Katra on September 3 after having darshans of Mata Vaishnodevi in Trikuta Hills, had murdered Gurpreet to snatch the taxi from him.
His hands were tied with a piece of cloth and the body bore severe injury marks on head, neck and face.

She was identified as Santosh Kumari, wife of Muktyar Chand of Dabbar, Bishnah. Srinagar, Sept 25: Authorities Saturday lifted curfew from parts of Srinagar city from noon onwards besides easing the restrictions in some other parts of the Valley after the law and order situation by and large remained peaceful overnight. "Curfew has been lifted from parts of Srinagar city from 12.00 noon till further orders," District Magistrate Srinagar Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo said.
