Srinagar, Oct 8: The legislative Assembly today created history when proceedings continued for some time without Speaker's presence.
The Speaker of the J&K legislative assembly today had to adjourn the house for 10 minutes first and then again for some time as the opposition PDP members came in to the well of the House demanding a discussion on the health care infrastructure in the state.
It was the first adjournment of the House after the ongoing session started on September 30.
The trouble started when many members wanted to ask supplementary relating to a question of PDP legislator Choudery Zulfkar Ali about the health care but Speaker did not allow them all because of the "shortage of time". In written reply to a question tabled by CPI(M) legislator in the assembly, the government said that 71605 posts were lying vacant in departments and PSUs in the state of which 9318 posts are Gazetted, 43415 are non-Gazetted and 18872 are Class-IV.
