Non-performing departments conceal facts, put blame on JK Cements | | | Bashir Assad
srinagar, Sept 1: The under-performing Government department and developmental agencies in Kashmir have invented a novel method of putting the blame on others to veil their own misdemeanor. Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC), Roads and Buildings (R&B) and Irrigation departments, in an attempt to cover the nonperformance, are clandestinely putting the blame on J&K Cements, the major profit-making public sector undertaking for not catering their demands while as the official figures reveal that the cement supply to various Government departments is for developmental projects is more than satisfactory.
Figures available with the Early Times suggest that JK Cements has so far, provided 94.4 % of the projected demand to JKPCC while as R&B Kashmir has taken delivery of 260000 MT out of the projected demand of 300000 MT for last three months. Similarly availability of quality cement to PHE and Irrigation departments was up to the mark. Notwithstanding the adequate supply of cement to these departments and Corporations by JK Cements, e...

The half-truth about recommendations was trumpeted by present National Conference (NC) led coalition Government as its victory until actual contents of the legally flawed report became public. | | Sino-Pak nexus in map war against India | | | Early Times Report

| | BJP emerging as an alternative to Congress | Anti-Establishment Wave | | Neha
Jammu, Sept 1: Surveys are being conducted by certain private news channels, leading magazines and election experts to find which way the political wind is blowing in India these days and which of the political parties would be in a commanding position if general elections are held today. The surveys conducted by India Today, NDTV and ABP News all suggest that the Congress is on its way out and the main opposition BJP way ahead of the Congress. These surveys also suggest that the BJP-led NDA will win more than 200 seats and the Congress-led UPA less than 190, with the UPA partners, barring the Congress, retaining control over all the 58 Lok Sabha constituencies they at present hold.

| | Despite his complicity estabilshed at outset, Kasab was given every opportunity of defence | Mumbai terror attack | | Bharat Bhushan
Jammu, Sept 1: Though Kasab's complicity in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack was established at the very outset, he was given every opportunity of defence, including a lawyer, by the Union Government. A special court had sentenced him to death. Now, when the Supreme Court has upheld the lower court verdict, a possible strike by the Pak-based terror outfits to avenge his death was not ruled out.
In view of these apprehensions, the Indian security agencies must not become complacent, a senior police officer said.
The terror outfits could plan yet another attack on any Indian city on or before the day he was sent to gallows, he added.
While any Indian city could become their t...

Jammu, Sept 1: On Thursday, the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) announced boycott of the New Delhi-appointed former interlocutors - Dilip Padgaonkar and Radha Kumar - who have planned to hold a meeting in Jammu also to get feedback from political parties and others on their report. Announcing the boycott, it said it would be a crime against man and God if it met with the former interlocutors, who now call themselves resource persons. (They are not self-appointed resource persons; they are on a mission which has the backing of the Union Government. There should be no doubt it.) The upshot of the whole argument of the JKNPP was that the interlocutors' report was not ...
