JAMMU, Oct 1: The inability of State Government to tap vast hydro power potential of 24000 MW, coupled with increasing demand of electricity has been resulting in siphoning of huge financial resources of cash starved State, on power purchase bill which has reached to around Rs. 4000 Crores.
Sources informed Early Times that State Government has spent Rs. 3955.58 cr on power purchase for the last financial year 2012-13, which was Rs. 246.55 Crore higher than the power purchase bill of financial year 2011-12, of Rs. 3740 cr.

Srinagar, Oct 1: Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker, Mubarak Gul told the autumn session of the Assembly today that he would soon rule on the privilege motion moved by NC Ministers against V.K. Singh.
The Speaker said he would decide whether the former Indian Army chief should be summoned to the House or some other course of action should be taken by him on the privilege motion.

JAMMU, Oct 1: Miffed over the non performance of the State Government, the Union Government has withheld funds for proposed three tunnels of the State even after lapse of half of current financial year ostensibly hampering the development work in the State.
Sources told Early Times that State had sent Detail Project Reports (DPR) of Mughal Road Tunnel, Razdan Pass Tunnel and Gurez Tunnel a year ago but State Government is still waiting for the funds despite their approval.
