JAMMU, Nov 9: China has refused to change its stapled visa policy on Kashmir. Bit it also makes an exception for artists and sports persons from Jammu and Kashmir.
Bishambhar Dass, a sculptor from Jammu and Kashmir, was the only Indian artist at a symposium in China last month. But there was another exception as Dass had a stamped visa on his passport, in contrast to China's policy of issuing only stapled visas to Jammu and Kashmir residents.
"Some of the Kashmiri doctors were denied visa for visiting China. I was scared that even my visa would be an issue. I got visa because I was an artist and artists know no universal boundaries," he said.

JAMMU, Nov 9: Cracking a blind murder case, Surankote police have arrested the victim's wife, her paramour and their two associates. The man was murdered as his wife wanted to marry her paramour which could be possible only after they got rid of him, police sources said.

For six hours, the CB sleuths examined the entire record, highly placed CB sources said.
The embezzlement in the disbursement of compensation for land acquired by SMVDU came to limelight when some people lodged a complaint with CB, Jammu, alleging that they had not received compensation till now.

JAMMU, Nov 9: A possible air mishap was today averted with the timely detection of smoke by flight engineers of IC-822 from the aircraft's wheels. There were 146 passengers on board the flight. Official sources said just before take off by the Delhi-bound flight IC-822 of the national carrier, the flight engineers saw thick smoke emanating from near the wheels.
All the passengers were then safely evacuated from the flight to prevent any loss of life, the sources added.

Official sources said Parvez Ahmad Kaloo was arrested near the main gate of the district hospital here when he was going inside the hospital.
Kaloo was alleged to be instigating other youth for stone pelting. He was evading arrest since the Amarnath land row in 2008 when he played a main role in the agitation, the sources added.
