JAMMU, Apr 29: Recently declared selection list of Combined Services Examination (CSE) for year 2009 by Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has given befitting response to all those who ridicule government for not doing enough for promotion and propagation of Urdu in the state.
Of 1288 candidates who had been declared to have qualified the mains examination, almost 25 percent i.e. around 316 made it merely because of the marks secured by them in Urdu subject. Further, 143 of these 316 candidates i.e. around 48 percent of total Urdu candidates who appeared before high profile interview board of the commission made it to the final selection list released recently.
Of the 392 CSE qualified candidates, around 36 percent are with Urdu background i.e. 143 Urdu knowing candidates are likely to become part of police and administrative set-up. More importantly, all these 308 candidates including 143 who made it to the final list of the commission are seemingly experts in Urdu. JAMMU, Apr 29: Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has seemingly got upset over manner in which a good number of aggrieved students have been approaching newspaper offices, claiming injustice with them on the basis of marks cards uploaded by the commission on its website.
The commission made the facility available for candidates in general on April 17, 2011. Those students who could not make it to the final selection list downloaded the marks cards and then reportedly compared it with those who got through the high profile interview of the commission.
