SRINAGAR, Sep 29: On the eve of a potentially hot session of the state legislature, National Conference-led coalition government today filed criminal complaints against two leaders of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a Kashmiri-American cardiologist of high international reputation with the argument that the respondents’ accusations of corruption against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and a junior Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, were not only baseless but also injurious to their public and private life.
Authoritative sources revealed to Early Times as a sequel to some PDP leaders’ press conference, Managing Director of Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (PDC) had approached the state government with the complaint that “unsubstantiated accusations” leveled against its Chairman were highly injurious to his public and private life. Consequent upon threadbare discussions in the UHQ meeting today, it has been decided to release youth, mainly the students who were arrested from different parts of Kashmir during the last three months on charges of stone pelting. JAMMU, Sept 29: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today urged the separatists to have a secret dialogue with New Delhi if "an open dialogue did not suit them." He was addressing a function organized by the Rural Development Department at Ganderbal.

new delhi, Sept 29: The Centre has granted sanction of Rs. 100 crore announced at the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting, as part of the peace package for Jammu and Kashmir.
"The grant under Special Plan Assistance (SPA) is meant for schools and colleges for improvement and additions to their existing infrastructure such as class rooms, auditorium, library, playgrounds and toilet complex etc," said the Union Home Ministry on Wednesday.
The concerned authorities have been instructed to release funds immediately to the State Government who are expected to release the same to the implementing agencies without any delay, according to the Ministry.
