On warpath: Govt imposes fresh 'restrictions', employees defiant
3 senior ministers 'stumbling block' in meaningful negotiations......?
9/7/2011 11:51:50 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 7: The state employees are once again on warpath with NC led coalition government, not agreeing to budge under any pressure or tactics of delay in fulfillment of their demands. Even as government has 'advised'the employees not to go ahead with their scheduled protest programmes, the latter seem to be defiant. Irked over what they term as 'arrogant and adamant' attitude of three senior ministers of Oma Abdullah's cabinet, the agitating employees firmly believe it is their stubborness and 'personal egos' which come as roadblock between the government and them and also result in frequent failed negotiations. What has come as an irritant is impostion of pro...

PDP may corner Govt over appointment of ICs
9/7/2011 11:47:08 PM
Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Sept 7: Even after failing to get a slot for her favourites in J&K State Accountability Commission (SAC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti seems to be planning to corner Omar Abdullah's coalition government over the appointment of a retiring Chief Engineer as a member of J&K State Information Commission (SIC). Leakage of the names of probables by members of the coalition coordination committee is yet again leading to an embarrassing situation for the government. Government's wisdom of letting half-a-dozen politicians of National Conference (NC) and Congress judge names of probables for SIC in a meeting last week has come into question. J...

Out-of-Box K Solution
9/7/2011 11:41:04 PM
Rustam JAMMU, Sept 7: Wikileaks, whistleblower website, has cleared all the cobwebs of confusion and clearly established that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah wants an out-of-box solution to the so-called Kashmir issue. In fact, the Wikileaks released a cable yesterday claiming that the Valley-based NC leader and MP had in 2005 told the known India-baiter diplomat Dan Burton that India had no roadmap to solve the Kashmir issue and accused the Ministry of External Affairs of "shooting down proposals to resolve the Kashmir issue". According to the Wikileaks, Omar had said that the Indian Prime Minister "must think outside the box to solve the festering problem". According to the leaked cable, Om...

Return Of K Hindus
9/7/2011 11:40:36 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 7: Repeat a lie a hundred times and it becomes a truth has been the belief of all mindsets which enjoy enforcing hegemony. And, the historical truth is that repeating a lie never becomes a truth and with each repetition lie makes itself more naked. On the issue of return of internally displaced Kashmiri Hindus, the machinery of the state government is employing Gobellian technique of repeating the lies and hoping that we will take it as the gospel truth. Only recently, the state government organized meeting of the Apex Committee on the return and rehabilitation of "Kashmiri Migrants", based in Jammu. The press note issued by the government about the deliber...

Hon'ble speaker must ensure answers from State Government
9/7/2011 11:38:16 PM
It is our foremost duty to set the record straight for our esteemed readers to whom we owe the success of Early Times in such a short period of time. Our readers have stood by us while all vested interests and those who feel grossly insecure due to our brave, outspoken and straightforward criticism of the corrupt, inefficient, anti-national and anti-social elements, ganged up to harm the interests of Early Times. During the last session of the State Legislative Assembly, an hon'ble member of assembly, Shri Chaman Lal Gupta of the BJP asked a very pertinent question regarding the state government's attitude towards Early Times. The hon'ble member had asked a question seeking the govern...
