SRINAGAR, Nov 23: Continuously boasting of his "strong connections' to the Union Minister of Health and former J&K Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Director of Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) Srinagar, Dr Rafeeq Masoodi, has not only ignored directions from Prasar Bharti Broadcasting Corporation of India and Directorate General of Doordarshan but also sponsored a campaign to grab the additional charge of Radio Kashmir Srinagar and Commercial Broadcasting Service of All India Radio in Srinagar.
Well-placed sources in DD revealed to Early Times that immediately after managing his rival Bashir Arif's unceremonious exit on October 29th by way of a four-month-long agitation in Radio Kashmir Srinagar, Masoodi had begun all-out efforts to get the additional charge of RKS as well as CBS in Srinagar. Even as his patron and CEO of PBBCCI, BS Lalli, has been cut to size by the political establishment and bureaucracy earlier this month, Masoodi is reportedly enjoying remarkable support from Azad and his well-entrenched coterie in New Delhi.
According to these sources, PBBCCI an...

‘Omar needs to change his advisors’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Nov 23: But for his advisors, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah would have performed better. This is what the political circles believe. Omar has a right to differ but as they say "vox populi vox dee" (voice of people is voice of God), he needs to give a serious thought to replacing his advisors.
Omar's political advisor, Davinder Singh Rana is a renowned and successful businessman but a new entrant into politics. The Chief Minister of a troubled state must have an experienced political advisor. Rana, on the contrary does not know much about politics his claims to the contrary notwithstanding.
Rana almost caused cracks in the National Conference. Seniors like Ali M...

| | Omar silent over youth's death in police "encounter" | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 23: The "historical" double standards adopted by the Kashmiri rulers while dealing with situations in Kashmir and Jammu regions have become more evident with chief minister Omar Abdullah not uttering a single word on the killing of Rakesh Singh Giri in the alleged police encounter near Satyam Resorts here Sunday. Jammu, Nov 23: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, seems to be adept in hijacking the agenda set by the PDP and the Kashmiri separatists. JAMMU, Nov 22: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is very happy these days. He must be patting himself and boasting that he has handed down to the people of the state a great administration that has revolutionized the healthcare system and improved the educational system to the extent no one would have ever expected.
