JAMMU, Mar 05: A cheat took away an Accent car by making payment through a fake draft to a Hyundai dealer at Narwal here. Police sources said one Bhanu Pratap visited KC Hyundai showroom at
Narwal here on January 1 last and took away a deluxe Accent car by making payment of over Rs 5 lakh through a draft. The dealer deposited the draft in the bank in routine for payment.
He was, however, informed by the bank yesterday that the draft was fake and no payment could be made against it. The dealer then approached the concerned police station and lodged a

JAMMU, Mar 05: A youth was today arrested by police from his residence at Kunjwani here for his alleged involvement in the making and selling of fake driving licences.
Acting on a tip-off that Dinesh Kumar had allegedly been into the illegal business of making and selling fake driving licences, police raided his residence at Kunjwani and arrested him.
Search of his house led cops to the recovery of fake documents of RTO office, blank driving licences, a computer, a printer, a scanner, stamps and some photographs, according to police sources.

JAMMU, Mar 05: A forest employee was today stabbed allegedly by a JKAP cop and his brother with sharp edged weapons at Gadigarh here.
Police sources Gurcharan Singh, a forest employee, was on his way home at Simble Camp when JKAP cop Ramneek Singh of Simble Camp Morh and his brother Gurmeet Singh intercepted him at Gadi Garh at about 5 pm.
After heated exchanges over some issue, they allegedly stabbed Gurcharan with sharp edged weapons and fled the spot, the sources added.
The victim was hospitalised. Police had registered a case against the accused who were absconding.
