Riddled with incidents of beating up weak & poor, browbeating commoners, misbehaving with MLC................ | Irony: DGP terms J&K Police as the 'Best"........! | | Early Times Report
jammu, Jan 10: DGP Kuldeep Khoda's words "that J&K police were one of the best police forces in the country" did not match with what his men were doing in thanas and on roads.
While performing their duties, the men in khaki never hesitate to take law in their hands. They indulge in atrocities and then go scot free.
In the passing out parade of SIs at PTA, Udhampur, on Monday, Khoda termed J&K police as one of the best police forces in the country despite the fact that commoners here were being humiliated by cops at nakas almost every day.
No one dares to lodge complaints with senior police officers against such overbearing cops, fearing harassment at their hands.

Early Times Report
jammu, Jan 10: Even as the state is confronting promiscuity and waywardness, the BSNL is bent upon polluting young minds by glorifying a porn star. | | With Congress heavy weights 'opting' silence, NC enjoys R&B, PDD portfolios in full swing | | | Early Times Report
jammu, Jan 10: Even while chief minister Omar Abdullah on Monday cleared the air on cabinet reshuffle and expansion and described the same as 'mere rumour', a simple question of keeping two important portfolios-Road and Buildings and Power Development Departments-within his domain remains unanswered.
Rather no one among Congress heavyweights-be it Saif-ud-Din Soz group or Azad lobby- bothered to intervene and get back the two prestigious portfolios, which as per the agreement are in Congress' kitty.
The direct fallout of keeping a blind eye towards the issue in question is that whatever developmental works related recommendations are being made by NC leadership to the ...

| | Omar again snubs Cong leadership | In A State Of Paralysis | | Rustam
jammu, Jan 10: "I represent both the political parties and have to think over the matter when it comes to me". Chief Minister Omar Abdullah yesterday made this statement while dismissing as a "rumour" the talk of cabinet reshuffle. He was talking to reporters on the sidelines of foundation laying function of Jammu and Kashmir State Data Centre (JKSDC) in the civil secretariat premises. If what has been reported by the print media is correct, then it can be construed as a deliberate affront to the self-respect of those who are leading the Congress party in the state. How else could one interpret his statement that "I represent both the political parties" (read National Conference and...

While Shimla has uninterrupted electricity and water supply at the tourist resorts...

| | PDP criticism constructive, Omar govt can learn from it | Loud talk by other opposition parties rhetoric, unachievable | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 10: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has done it once again. Instead of taking opposition party PDP's criticism over the way he has been managing crisis in the Kashmir Valley in positive stride, he has hit them back, albeit in a sarcastic way . Even as he has tried to show that he cares damn about what PDP feels or says about his style of functioning, the fact remains he does care and gives a thought to each and every comment PDP makes about the government led by him. For Omar also knows it well PDP is the only party in opposition which makes criticisms not for the sake of it but is loaded with remarks and points which make sense and are relevant to the time an...

| | Jammu not a doormat, it will decide its own fate | Kashmir Issue -- II | | Neha
jammu, Jan 10: As mentioned, Jammu province is neither Kashmir's colony nor a doormat and bridge between Kashmir and New Delhi. The people of Jammu province have not given the mandate to New Delhi to decide their fate. Nor have they given this mandate to the Kashmiri leadership. They are the masters of their own fate and it is their prerogative to go where they want to. No one can impose the Kashmiri leadership's will on them. Nor can New Delhi force down their throat a solution that is based on the demands being put forth by the Kashmiri leadership. Likewise, they are vehemently opposed to a solution that divides Jammu province along the River Chenab on communal lines. Pir Panjal is ...

| | Helpless Omar prefers status quo on cabinet reshuffle? | | | Early Times Report
jammu, Jan 10: If some media reports are to be believed the State Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has once again decided to put the much awaited cabinet reshuffle on the hold.
Succumbing to pressures mounted on him from within the NC and the inability of his Congress alliance partners to come to some consensus on the crucial issue, it is now reliably learnt that the much talked about reshuffle of portfolios in the State cabinet has been deferred by the Chief Minister.
After completing three years in office, Omar Abdullah was likely to announce a major reshuffle in his cabinet. While some new faces were believed to be waiting for their induction into the cabinet, public op...
