JAMMU/srinagar, Oct 4: After shelling border hamlets along the LoC in Poonch, Pakistani troops resorted to heavy firing of mortar bombs, small and automatic weapons in Jammu region overnight leaving two persons injured.
The Army said there was also a brief ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Gulmarg sector of north Kashmir last night

srinagar, Oct 4: Lieutenant General Subrata Saha said here today the Army has been responding continuously to the ceasefire violations by Pakistani Rangers.
Unprovoked firing and ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops at Indian positions along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir left one dead and injured four civilians on Friday.
Two persons were also injured by in the Sabjian sector of Poonch last night.
Pakistan had earlier violated ceasefire at the shared border on the intervening night of September 30 and October 1. This is however not the first time the ceasefire between both neighbours has been violated.

JAMMU, Oct 4: Amid frequent violations of ceasefire by Pakistan, BSF today told Pakistani Rangers not to fire along the International Border (IB) as "it is not good for general public of both the sides".
"We have told them (Pak Rangers) in the morning (during patrolling) don't fire it is not good for general public of both the sides," Inspector General (IG) BSF, Jammu Frontier, Rakesh Sharma said.
"Why are you (Pak Rangers) firing. If you fire, we will also fire," is what has been conveyed to Pak rangers during patrolling of IB by BSF troops this morning, he said.
