Jammu, Dec 1: State Finance Commission (SFC) has obliquely termed members of the board of directors (BOD) of state power development corporation (SPDC) 'incompetent' and asked the government 'to review the composition'.
Commission in volume third and Chapter XI of the report at Page no. 584 has advised the government to bring induct men of competence in the board of directors of the corporation in consultation with the management of the corporation. Interestingly, this part of commission's report, if viewed with common man's perspective, has virtually put a question mark on the competence of officers otherwise known across the state set-up for their efficiency, capability and hardwork since they are members of SPDC board whose Chairman is Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The officers include Chief Secretary Madhav Lal, Economic Advisor to government Jalil Khan, Principal Secr...

JAMMU, Dec 1: The health of the state Congress is not good. There are senior leaders who are pulling each other's legs, thus indirectly helping the otherwise unpopular and controversial NC consolidating its hold over the state government.
The situation has climaxed to the point that certain Congress leaders are airing views which are not consistent with the views of the JKPCC president. On the contrary, they are behaving as if they are the spokespersons of the NC whose regime has only added to the woes of the people, including the youth, created anarchical conditions across the state with the extremists once again raising their ugly heads and posing live challenge to the national sec...
| | Meaning of political problem | Context Kashmir | | Rustam
JAMMU, Dec 1: India is a democratic country where all adult Indians, without exception, enjoy the right to elect their government(s) every five years. They can, if they so desire, re-elect the government, as they recently did in Assam. The story of West Bengal was all the more spectacular in the sense that a virtual newcomer, the Trinamool Congress, ended the 34-year-long rule of the Left.
