Says, no need of Hindu Chief Minister; asks small parties in Kashmir to make Modi's rally a success
BJP eyes Kashmir forgets Jammu
12/4/2014 11:35:34 PM
Early Times Report Srinagar, Dec 4: Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leaders are leaving no stone unturned to lure the voters in Muslim dominated Kashmir. After dumping the demand to abrogate Article 370 in the state, the BJP has made it clear that if the party forms the next government in Jammu and Kashmir it would not pursue the agenda of having a Hindu Chief Minister. Sources told Early Times that the senior BJP leaders who have arrived in Kashmir ahead of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's December 8 rally in Srinagar have conveyed it to the leaders of Kashmir based parties that BJP's only aim is development and other issues, including Article 370 and having a Hindu Chief Minister, are non-issues. The insiders said that BJP leaders are holding closed door meetings with the leaders of the small parties and are telling them that BJP is a "secular party" and it would follow the advice of the Kashmiri leaders in letter and spirit. "The BJP leaders have convinced many leaders of the small parties in Kashmir to send their supporters to attend the Srinagar rally of the Prime Minister Nar...

Who would be surprised if all Kashmiri separatist leaders joined state elections?
12/4/2014 11:35:20 PM
Early Times Report Srinagar, Dec 4: The massive participation of people in the first two phases of State Assembly elections has created flutter and frustration in the ranks of Kashmiri separatist leaders. For more than 20 years the separatist leaders have been forcing people to boycott elections in the Valley. These separatist leaders have been projecting the low voter turnout in the elections as the universal assertion of the people of Kashmir against India and the so-called desire of the people to secede from the rest of the country. Separatist sympathisers outside the country have been engaged in vigorous propaganda to convince the World that the non-participation of the people of Kas...

12/4/2014 11:35:12 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 4: Congress has regained its ground and is giving tough competition to the BJP in the Jammu region especially in the seats which have gone to the polls. The Congress insiders believe that party will push the BJP to the second spot in the Jammu and could probably confine it to its last tally of 11 seats or even lower than that. "The BJP has been exposed like never before. Its real face has come before the public whom it has been exploiting by abusing Kashmiri leadership but seeking private favours from them. Now, they are infact begging before the Kashmiris and this will work our way," said a senior Congress leader. The BJP is unlikely to open its account in...

12/4/2014 11:35:04 PM
Early Times Report Srinagar, Dec 4: It seems Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah whose party National Conference (NC) always thrived on poll boycott has lost his nerves because of heavy polling in the two phases. He has admitted a fact that has serious legal consequences. Omar Abdullah today admitted that National Conference leader Haji Yusuf died in the custody of the former IGP Crime and now People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Raja Aijaz Ali in September 2011. This is an admission that Yusuf died in his (Omar's) custody. Omar perhaps forgot that he was and happens to be the Home Minister of the state. Masood Malik Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 4: Bharatiya Janta Party ignoring the sentiments of the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions has disappointed the denizens of both the regions. They are finding it hard to believe that BJP is the same party which had emerged as the strong alternative for the masses of these two regions. Yes, there were times when the BJP used to tread a path different from those of the Kashmiri parties. But gone are those days. The BJP of today is completely different from what it used to be.
