Major reshuffle in administration, police on cards after LS poll results
5/12/2014 11:07:42 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, May 12: A major reshuffle in the state administration and police is on the cards after announcement of the Lok Sabha poll results on May 16. The reshuffle would be effected by Omar Abdullah led coalition Government any day soon after the results come out. Reliable sources said that even as the reshuffle in higher echelons of administration as also among middle rung bureaucrats has become an overdue exercise for the Government, both the allies NC and Congress are keen to do so withe eyes on Assembly elections. Sources said though a minor reshuffle was effected by the Government ahead of LS polls with a purported motive that this move would help them fetch some electoral gains in one way or the other, it did not help the allies in a big way as they had envisaged. The mood of electorate and strong anti incumbency wave posed impediments despite '(mis)use' of official machinery to woo the electorate. Sources said the Government is not happy nor impressed for some high ranking officials on whom it had pinned high hopes for their 'role' in elections which is wh...

5/12/2014 11:06:55 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, May 12: Even before counting of the Parliament elections, hectic lobbying in BJP has already been started to get mandate for the coming Assembly elections. During the campaign of Lok Sabha elections, a number of BJP leaders have projected themselves as candidates of their respective Assembly segments. But, now when Parliament elections have almost completed these leaders have been exerting pressure on their mentors to get their names announced for Assembly polls. BJP leadership wo...

5/12/2014 11:06:01 PM

The politicians of the state, more so in power, will try their best to exploit these opportunities as a means of saving in the coming Assembly elections. Those people who are hungry for power will go to any extent for their political survival, doesn't matter if they have to run their horses over the dead bodies. They will not tolerate the rise of those people who can show them the door for ever. The people are of the opinion that the coalition parties more so National Conference will die a political death as the leaders of these parties are fast losin...

5/12/2014 10:56:56 PM
Neha JAMMU, May 12: Thousands of Hindus, mostly Dalits, migrated to Jammu from West Pakistan in the wake of the communal partition of India in August 1947 to save their lives, dignity and culture. Ever since then, they have been struggling very hard to obtain citizenship rights in order to lead a dignified life as Indian citizens and enjoy all the rights available under the Indian Constitution and Jammu & Kashmir Constitution, but in vain. They hold the successive Kashmiri dominated governments in the State responsible for their absolutely miserable life and hold Article 370 in contempt as an anti-democratic instrument in the hands of the Valley's political elite which uses it brazenly ...
