srinagar, Aug 20: A recently commissioned Lieutenant of Army Ordnance Corps got killed when troops intercepted a group of at least 12 militants infiltrating into Gurez sector through inflated boats, believed to have been provided by Pakistani Army. Even as Police maintained that it had not received any dead bodies till late tonight, Army claimed that all the 12 infiltrators in black commando combat dresses were killed in the fierce gunbattle and two boats were seized.

Balbir Singh, son of Jagat Singh of Dalbad, Nagrota, went to J&K Bank's Sidhra branch here on August 4 last to draw money from his account. Police said two persons, who were not known to him, approached him and soon became friendly with him. Since there was rush of customers in the bank, the two persons told him that it would be better to go to the ATM and draw the money from there.
