TOP STORY OF THE DAY
Sad state of affairs in SMGS Hospital, Govt least bothered
Infant deaths continue
12/14/2012 12:27:30 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 13: The NC led coalition government is making tall claims of treating all the regions equally in terms of providing infrastructure and facilities in the Health sector. But disparity continues with Jammu particularly in its main hospitals where situation reflects sad state of affairs. It shows the government is simply not interested in improving the health condition in government medical college and associated hospitals in Jammu. The government is interested in only giving attention to valley based hospitals falling under medical education department. This is substantiated with a fact that when the government was quick to address the infant death in GB Pant hospital in Srinagar which rocked the summer capital in mid-summer. The issue of these deaths in G B Pant was intentionally raised in union capital New Delhi to get financial support for valley based hospital but no one is concerned for only pediatric hospital of Jammu Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) hospital where the situation is no better. On Wednesday, another death in SMGS led to demonstr...

12/14/2012 12:25:13 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 13: In this neglected land where scams galore, the Relief Commissioner's office have not lagged behind. Instead of 60 migrant families that qualified for allotment of a flat at Jagti, the Relief Commissioner's office issued a list of 120 families. While the deserving families are awaiting allotment, the Relief Commissioner seems in no mood to initiate the process. Documents with Early Times reveal that the Police department after due scrutiny found only 60 families eligible for allotment of flats at Jagti. A letter PEWJ/RC-CHANNI/12/275 dated March 19, 2012 was sent to the concerned. It has been reliably learnt that an official who happens to be a relative...

The way the Chairman PSC SL Bhat and Secretary TS Ashok Kumar justified the provocative blunder committed by the a paper setter in a question paper for the written test conducted by it on Sunday last in Jammu and Srinagar for the recruitment of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology of CAPD Department, one should not be surprised if in the next paper of PSC, these national heroes are dubbed as 'terrorists'.
