Multi-crore extravaganza in sporting arena opens for millionaire
4/25/2011 11:57:04 PM
Mishu Gupta Jammu, Apr 25: As the much acclaimed multi-crores Jammu golf course is thrown open for the limited sports lovers of the state, a much bigger question too sets in for a judicious response from the administration as to how many lovers of this sport are active in the state and what international or any national importance does any individual of the state holds who could be the beneficiary of such a multi-crore extravaganza at his disposal. The golf course near the beds of Suryaputri no doubt has come as an asset to the state for getting an international level sports stadium here, but not a single individual of any standing in the sport could be found out who can make the judicious use of such course to earn reputation and recognition for state in the field. “Why only a golf course of such magnitude and magnificence only found relevance in the government books to be established in Jammu when there are nearly half dozen small and big grounds in and around Jammu are left forlorn with no concern coming from anywhere,” said an enthusiastic cricket lover of the region. Hi...

Separation of Dogras from Kashmiris the only way out
Dogra Certificate
4/25/2011 11:52:21 PM
MINCING NO WORDS NEHA EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 25: Now that it is clear that the Kashmiri leaders – “mainstream” and separatist – are vehemently opposed to the Dogras, it is time for New Delhi to separate the latter from the former and end regional and ethnic tensions on a permanent basis. The irresponsible and outrageous behaviour of the Kashmiri leaders and their highly negative attitude to the Dogra certificate, which does not mean much in the sense that it only relaxes a couple of rules governing recruitment to central paramilitary forces, proves that the Dogras and the Kashmiri Muslims representing all shades of opinion cannot live together or co-exist under one unified polit...

4/25/2011 11:52:05 PM
STARK REALITY RUSTAM EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 25: The new Delhi-appointed three interlocutors completed their seventh visit to the state yesterday. During their visit, they organized a two-day-long roundtable conference in Kashmir and met a number of delegations. They also met Hurriyat leader Abbas Ansari, who has been suspended by the APHC (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on the ground that his meeting with the interlocutors was against the party’s stand. From what they said yesterday during the press conference in Jammu, it was clear that they were still groping in the dark, that they have utterly failed to diagnose what ails Kashmir and that they are concerned more with Kashmir...

`Restore tele ties across LoC’
4/25/2011 11:51:50 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, April 25: Even as major political parties of the state and civil society actors from various parts of the country have been demanding opening up of all routes along the LoC, the state’s divided families have demanded restoration of tele ties across the loC. An Advocate who was denied permission to board the Muzaffarabad bound bus said the process of getting a seat in the Karvaan-e-Aman was too cumbersome. “The bus has not helped the divided families. Unless the process is smoothened, the bus will not serve any purpose”, he said. The lawyer’s cynicism is not totally unfounded. There have been times when the bus has traveled to Muzaffarabad without having any ...
