J&K Chief Secretary’s “Dream Team” in shambles, seniors refuse to return | *Ganai likely to join I&B ministry; Vyas, Panday to follow
* Angurana proceeds on leave, rushes abroad
Syed Junaid Hashmi
JAMMU, Apr 26: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Madhav Lal’s plan of ushering in his own “Dream Team” of IAS officers is slowly getting unstuck.
Latest officer to refuse to return to the state, it is reliably learnt is P.G.Dhar Chakraborti, whose term as Director of the National Disaster Management Institute ended on March 31, 2011. Sources said that Chakraborti (IAS 1980) has just two years to retire which he would naturally prefer to spend as Additional Secretary in the GOI.
Meanwhile, his batchmate and son-of-the-soil Ashok K Angurana (IAS 1980) has exited the Secretariat, where he was Principal Secretary of the very lucrative PHE & Irrigation Department and has gone to the rather insignificant post of Resident Commissioner J&K House, New Delhi, as the latter could be a stepping stone to his posting in the government of India as Additional Secretary.
Sources disclosed that Angurana’s heart is not in the post of the Resident Commissioner. They added that within days of Joining, Angurana has proceeded on long le...

SRINAGAR, Apr 26: Dying for the Azadi-lover Maulana Shaukat Shah and whosoever seeks Kashmir’s separation from India, Valley’s so-called mainstream politicians have been jostling to take lead in issuing condolences and calling on the bereaved families. However, when the wreath-laying ceremony of two slain constables of Jammu & Kashmir took place at Police Control Room today, everybody made it a point to remain absent. Those who were present in town but ‘boycotted’ the solemn event, include three senior National Conference (NC) leaders
and Cabinet Ministers in Omar Abdullah government--- Ali Mohammad Sagar, Sakeena Itoo and Qamar Ali Akhoon.

| | Holding one liable for wrongs of his brother | JK Police style: | |
Early Times Report
Jammu, April 26: Nobody should be condemned for wrongs of others. This is what the law says. But who cares. In this neglected state, the police hold a person responsible for the `wrongs’ committed by his brother and have the gut to admit it in an open court.
Explaining law of jungle beautifully, a text book of fourth standard narrates the story of a goat that dares to drink from a stream. The lion sees it and asks why she polluted the water. The goat pleads her case leaving no room for the lion to harm her. The lion finally says that your father had polluted it and eats the poor goat.

MINCING NO WORDS
NEHA
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 26: Dogras in the region comprising Jammu province and parts of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh constitute that social group in the country that could be compared with any other martial race in the world. At the same time, however, they are sober, gentle and innocent. They seldom look down upon other people. They are so simple, large-hearted, accommodating and nationalist to the core. They are ferocious too. They turn ferocious the moment they feel that moves are afoot to cause an affront to their self-respect, erode their identity and drive them away from the national mainstream. It is hardly necessary to elucidate further this point. Wh...

To be very honest with you, I have only heard about this certificate, but what exactly is this about, I don’t know at all. As soon as I will go through this certificate, I will be in a best position to express myself as professor as well as political leader.
