JAMMU, Sept 24: The state's top police man is in real trouble. A petition seeking reinvestigation of his involvement in a fake encounter has been filed by the relatives of the victim. The petition has been listed for hearing on September 30. The Advocate General has been put on notice. He is likely to argue the petition on September 30.
The petitioners Nazira Begum, aged 45 years, Widow of Fazal Hussain Dar and Shaheena Begum, aged 45 years, Widow of Mohammad Hussain Lone both residents of Malni, Tehsil Bhaderwah, District Doda are represented by renowned human rights activist and noted lawyer Parvez Imroz.

| | Youth tries to end life by cutting throat | | | KATRA: A youth tried to end life by allegedly cutting his throat with a knife at his residence here late Friday night.
Police said Noor Mohammad, son of Nazir Ahmad, allegedly cut his throat at his residence in the heart of the town here at about 11 pm yesterday.
He was, however, shifted by his family to the CHC, Katra, and later referred to the GMC hospital, Jammu, where his condition was stated to be critical.
Though police had registered a case, the cause behind the provocation was yet to be ascertained.

I had raised a question during the last session of the state assembly seeking a reply from the government regarding the decision to stop government advertisements to the daily Early Times published from Jammu.
I had also spoken about the highhandedness of the government and its arbitrary, whimsical dispensation regarding distribution of official advertisements to the various newspapers published in the state.
Despite repeated requests, the state government did not come forward with any reply to my question and the result has been that through its decision to ignore my question the state government has covertly accepted that it does not have a reasonable answer to my question.
