Jammu, Dec 10: The state government has issued orders banning entry of journalists in civil secretariat before 1 pm. This sudden decision has generated a lot of resentment among journalist fraternity in the state who have been treated as the common man by the powers that be at the helm of affairs in civil secretariat. Jammu, Dec 10: An anti-corruption watchdog plans to prepare and make public a list of the assets of some tainted politicians, bureaucrats and legislators. If it happens, it would be a development Jammu and Kashmir cannot be proud of.
J&K has already been labelled as the second most corrupt state in the country after Bihar.
Having zeroed in on some tainted politicians, and civil and police officers (serving and retired), the anti-corruption body was busy in preparing a detailed list of their moveable and immovable assets.

Jammu, Dec 10: While the appointment of Chairman State Accountability Commission (SAC) has been put into cold storage, nearly 449 senior officers are facing trial in courts in different corruption cases in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said that nearly 210 cases involved 449 gazetted officers are pending before the Courts of Special Judge Anti-Corruption in Jammu and Srinagar.
Cases are also pending against 30 IAS officers, 20 IPS officers, 10 IFS officers, 3 former Vice-Chancellors of Universities, former Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, 4 former Chief Engineers and former Director General of Police (DGP), official sources said.

JAMMU, Dec 10: Tension today gripped RS Pura after an eight-year-old girl died after she was given 'Ceftrix-S' intramuscular injection in a chemist shop in the town.
Tanu (8) of Dangre, RS Pura, was not keeping well for the past few days. Her parents brought her to the tehsil hospital for check-up at about 1.30 pm, police sources said.
After examining her, the doctor, who was on duty, gave her parents a prescription slip. In it, the girl had been advised to have Ceftrix-S (375 mg) injection twice a day.
After leaving the hospital, the parents took the girl to the nearby Janta Medical Hall where a shop attendant gave her the injection, the sources added.
