If there were some ceasefire violations it was aimed at pushing about 1600 militants, trained in 36 camps, across the border into Jammu and Kashmir for hiking the level of violence. For several days senior Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, felt infuriated over continued silence on the part of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, over repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops on the International Border (IB) in Jammu. 10/11/2014 10:39:33 PM
Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Oct 11: Fearing defeat, Omar Abdullah wants deferment of elections. The party has, true to its political DNA, has criticized the PDP for giving its consent on the elections. National Conference is the only party which has told the Election Commission that elections shouldn't be held this time. The party has given strange logic that elections could affect the relief operations. The excuse is reflection of desperation and contradic-tions in the party. The relief operation is being handled by the officials and all of them are not called for the election duties. The elections are conducted mainly by few officials with maximum strength being provided by the tea...

India's adequate response
10/11/2014 10:39:22 PM
Neha Jammu, Oct 11: Pakistan, which resorted to unprovoked firing on the LoC and IB and deep inside the Indian territories in Jammu and Kashmir on October 1, has been shown its rightful place both by the Indian political establishment and our dedicated, committed and chivalrous armed forces and paramilitaries. The Pakistani political and military establishments had never imagined that New Delhi would respond swiftly, appropriately and adequately to not only defeat their evil game plan in Jammu and Kashmir, but would also target the permanent defences inside Pakistan. They took India for granted on the basis of their past experience. They had perhaps come to believe that the BJP-led NDA G...

Why NC wants postponement of elections?
10/11/2014 9:24:12 PM

NC played safe, sought deferment of elections
10/11/2014 9:24:04 PM
Javaid Naikoo Srinagar, Oct 11: As National Conference (NC) lonely sought deferment of upcoming Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir by citing large scale devastation caused by floods as only reason, experts say NC has every reason to seek deferment of elections as most flood hit areas actually cut NC's Vote bank strength than any other political party. The NC leaders including the Chief Minister will find it extremely difficult to visi8t the flood ravaged areas to seek votes especially when they failed then in times of distress, said a political expert. Chief Minister's constituency, Sonawar is badly hit by floods and Omar is not welcome there. Amira Kadal also considered as den...
