Two suspended MLAs ‘question’ high command decision, say narco test ‘must’ for all 11 | ‘Split group’ speculation gaining ground…..? | | ‘Conspiracy from insider to sideline Prof Gupta……….’
SAROJ RAZDAN
Jammu: Post ‘action’ from the High command , in what appears to be the BJP Legislative Party heading for a ‘split’, two MLAs out of the 7 suspended members today came out in open to ‘challenge’ the decision of leadership in shortlisting only 7 and giving clean chit to rest of the four in the Legislative Council cross voting scam. In a revolting mood, MLA Reasi Baldev Raj Sharma and MLA Bani Lal Chand questioned the criteria which high command adopted in establishing their involvement and said they were ready to undergo narco test on their own expenses, provided the party decided so for all 11 MLAs. Contending the decision of the party a ’misjudgement’ and ‘totally false’, the two MLAs even went on say this was a conspiracy by some ‘insider’ to sideline ‘their’ leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta in the party affairs.
A day after Baldev Raj Sharma and Lal Chand along with three more suspended members exhibiting defiance and revolt against the high command approached the Speaker of J&K Legislative Assembly Moh...

JAMMU, Apr 22: If the manner in which Mid-day meal scheme is being implemented across the state is any indication, then Babus in Jammu and Kashmir are not far behind in making fake promises and pledges. The only difference, politicians hoodwink commoners while Babus delude all.
In the present, those who have been hoodwinked are the Commissioners of the country’s highest legal body supreme court of India. And those who have led these commissioners astray are secretaries of various departments and their head, Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir. Supreme Court appointed these commissioners vide an interim order dated May 8, 2002 for the purpose of monitoring of the impl...

STARK REALITY
RUSTAM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 22: It’s a critical moment for the Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. He holds a very sensitive position and it is his fundamental duty to ensure that the people’s representatives do not do anything that is against the spirit of the constitution and that negates the very People’s Representation Act. It is his duty to see to it that the conduct of the people’s representatives is clean, as they constitute that segment that frames laws and decides questions of supreme importance. The Speaker just can’t afford to act in a partisan manner. He is one constitutional authority that is expected of setting norms and enforcing...
| | `Autonomy will be an interim relief for Kashmir’ | | |
Early Times Report
Jammu, April 22: An in-depth analysis of the interlocutors’ press briefing at Srinagar yesterday reflects their mindset. The Padgoanker led panel is most likely to recommend greater autonomy to Jammu Kashmir. The panel knows it will not restore peace to the conflict torn state. Their second priority is to engage the separatists in the dialogue process. So, restoration of autonomy is an interim relief for Kashmiris. The final solution, if one reads the interlocutors mind correctly, shall come after separatists and New Delhi sit on the table. The recommendations are likely to evoke ridicule in Jammu and Ladakh for obvious reasons.
History is witness to the fact that the...

JAMMU, Apr 22: BJP Central leadership has taken serious exception to the anti party activities of Party MLAs suspended by High Command for cross voting in Legislative Council elections of April 13.
Soon after coming to know that five out of seven suspended Party MLAs had met Speaker Legislative Assembly here yesterday to intimate him that all 11 MLAs had resigned on moral grounds owing responsibility of cross voting but the decision of High Command to suspend them was unfortunate and the Speaker should not entertain the same in the event the High Command forwards it to him.

NEHA
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 22: It was some 28 days ago that the Revenue Ministry headed by the Jammu-based Congress leader Raman Bhalla directed the concerned revenue authorities to issue Dogra certificates to those approaching them and desirous of joining the central paramilitary forces. The order, it may be mentioned, dealt with two relaxations in the recruitment rules – height and chest expansion. Ever since then, the vested interests in Kashmir or the anti-Dogra forces in the Valley have been carrying on a vicious campaign with a view to forcing the state government to withdraw the said order.
It would be only desirable if the attitude of the Kashmiris towar...

I, fully support the Dogra certificate and there is nothing new or controversial in it. This was issued even at the time of maharaja and reason to issue this was to get some relaxation for Dogra for joing Army and other Paramilitary forces. I don’t see any reason why anybody should have any problem with this.

Being a woman, I endorse this certificate as this gives relaxation to youth of Jammu province to get in central paramilitary forces and Army. This is an non-issue and some vested elements are raising the fingers on this issue. Why Govt,. Is not coming out with a statement which rather gives air to such rumours. Jammu people will be ready for another agitation, if anything is going to dilute this certificate.
